“It is my personal belief, and one that I’ve shared with many people, that eucalyptus is the single most important thing we can do for our glider’s health. I’ve discussed this with Suz, and with Peggy, and with Marz (from Australia) – among others, and they have all agreed with me. It isn’t something I can have substantiated by a vet – or at least, not by any vet *I* know – but I’ve seen it! My gliders who are chewers can go through a stick (or more!) a night! My gliders who are not chewers still end up stripping a bit of bark if I just leave the sticks in. The sticks and leaves don’t go bad in the cages. The leaves CAN mildew in the fridge if left too long. If I put the leaves in the cages and they ignore them, the leaves dry out. Just fill the sink with cold water and drop the dried leaves in. They refresh themselves! I’ve had larger Euc perches in my gliders cages for a month now – they are still enjoying them! If you want me to elaborate on *why* it is so healthy, let me know!”
